Biography

Barry Broutman is a certified personal trainer and owner of the Baby Boomer Health and Fitness site , as well as Chicago Personal Training.

 As a personal trainer for over 22 years, certified as a Senior Fitness Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist, Barry has worked with a wide range of clientele. From athletes to post rehab, corporate executives to stay at home parents, from 10 year olds to 84 year olds and from one on one training to corporate wellness programs, Barry has seen it all.

Barry was a senior personal trainer at Lakeshore Athletic Club for thirteen years and also spent two years volunteering his time at U.I.C Sports Rehab Institute. He has taught health and fitness classes and workshops at various institutions in the Chicagoland area; including Parker School, U.I.C. Department on Aging, United Airlines.

With many of his clients being Baby Boomers (as well as himself), Barry designs programs for his clients that focuses on their specific goals while integrating balance, fall prevention, core exercises and sports specific movements to improve his clients lifestyles, activities and the sports they love playing.

An avid bike rider, Barry has participated in numerous century bike rides and the Ironman Steel Head Triathlon as part of a relay team. His love of travel takes him around the globe but most often finds himself on islands of Hawaii. He is happily married and shares custody of a dominance-challenged seven year old Labrador retriever.

Barry offers private training at a training studio in Chicago as well as in-home and in-office training for individual clients in the city and suburbs.
